The far side view catches a cut in nature; the zoom brings forth the image of an ample house, comfortable, with strict geometry. Those are trademarks of architect Gustavo Penna, who, consistent with his principles, has designed this residence in the Estância das Amendoeiras condominium, in Lagoa Santa, MG, following his world view. “The house is like a blank canvas ready to be filled with people”, Penna says. By the entrance, a monumental portico announces what come first, serenity and the pleasure of living in harmony with nature.
The 850m² house is built in this scenery, facing the sunrise. The L shape (28m x 28m) points to the creation of a wide garden square and to the rational distribution of the spaces: at one side, the social area; at the other, the private wing.
Some outstanding features make the difference. The veranda in the 10m span, totally open on both sides, is one of them. Another one is the living room / home theater with a 7m ceiling height and acoustic insulation in perforated plasterboard that add a volume on top of the house with a significant formal impact.
Be it windy, sunny or under the shade or the moon, this is an ideal place for moments of leisure and serenity. And also, Gustavo Penna adds, the L-shape is always suggestive of a big hug.
